1 Pot Vegan Lactation Lentils with Milk Shakers

Makes 2-3 servings


  • ½ cup of diced yellow onions
  • 1½ cups of sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 3-4 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 cup of any kind of lentils
  • 1 can of tomato sauce (we like tomato basil)
  • 1-2 cups of water
  • 1 TBS of cooking oil
  • Milk Shakers (you can add 1-2 teaspoons after dishing out your serving OR add 1-1½ TBS to entire pot)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • *Other seasonings that go well: oregano, thyme, basil, and cumin


  • Heat cooking oil in medium pot
  • Add diced onions
  • Season onions with salt and pepper (and any other seasonings you like)
  • Saute onions for 1-2 minutes
  • Add sliced mushrooms (mix together) and cook for 2-3 minutes
  • Add splashes of water to prevent sticking when necessary
  • Add minced garlic (mix together) and cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Add lentils to pot and mix ingredients
  • Add 1-1½ cups of water (covering mixture)
  • Bring to a boil
  • Reduce heat and simmer for approx. 20 minutes until lentils are tender (may need to add water)
  • Add tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated
  • Stir in Milk Shakers before serving for a lactation boost

We love Milk Shakers Fenugreek Blend for this recipe. The fenugreek complements the cumin and thyme, especially. You can’t even taste a hint of the Brewer’s Yeast! #winning

Diced dates and/or crushed pistachios go great as a topping, as well.
